Best Hybrid Cars

With so many options in the world of hybrid cars, it’s difficult to know where to begin.  You need to consider price, fuel economy, gas mileage, safety features, driving features, and dozens of other options.  Have you ever wished that someone would take all those choices and compare them for you?  Well look no further, lets take a look at the top 3 hybrid cars available today.

The first is the 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid.  While this hybrid version doesn’t get the best gas mileage at 34 mpg, it drives less like a hybrid than most models.  Its handling is smooth, and comfortable.  The Toyota Camry Hybrid’s safety features are good and it has above average crash test ratings.  While many hybrid cars can feel like a higher-priced, less-powerful compromise, the Toyota Camry Hybrid feels like a normal mid-sized sedan.  And with a list of optional features to really make it customized, it rivals all other hybrid cars available.  Its downsides are a reduced trunk size and a higher price compared to similarly sized hybrids.

The 2008 Toyota Prius could make this list for one reason alone.  Its 46-mpg gas mileage is the best among hybrid cars.  Apart from that distinction, the Toyota Prius stands out in other ways as well.  It has more trunk space than most other hybrid car models.  In addition, the hatchback-only Toyota Prius gives a distinctive look.  For these benefits you would expect a higher price, but the Toyota Prius has one of the lower prices in hybrid vehicles.  This is offset by the low power that the in comparison to other mid-sized hybrids.  During city driving, it does fairly well but can be sluggish and slow to respond on the highway.

Finally, there’s the 2008 Lexus GS 450h.  The only luxury model on the list, it sits in a class by itself.  Its performance is on par with other vehicles in the same price class, both hybrid models and standard models.  The 23-mpg that the Lexus GS 450h gets isn’t that great compared to other hybrid cars, but it is good compared to standard luxury models.  Just the standard options include rain-sensing windshield wipers, a navigation system, heated seats, and satellite radio.  If you are looking for a way to cruise in style while being good to the environment the Lexus GS 450h is the only way to go.
